Distributing 3-Day Free Passes to General Users
[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] The online video service (OTT) Watcha Play is providing free usage vouchers to individuals confirmed with COVID-19 and those in self-quarantine.
On the 6th, Watcha announced that in consultation with the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters (CDSCH), it will provide free Watcha Play usage vouchers to all confirmed COVID-19 patients admitted to self-quarantine or residential treatment centers during their isolation period. In cooperation with the Ministry of Health and Welfare and others, Watcha will support the psychological stability of COVID-19 victims by allowing them to use Watcha Play free of charge until they are fully recovered or released from quarantine.
Watcha Play plans to deliver the vouchers to residents of residential treatment centers via QR codes and is also considering methods to distribute vouchers using the Ministry of the Interior and Safety’s self-quarantine safety management application, which will begin operation on the 7th. The CDSCH and Watcha Play intend to finalize the specific delivery methods and announce them next week.
In addition to COVID-19 victims, Watcha Play has distributed free 3-day usage vouchers to the general public. Anyone can use them, regardless of whether they are confirmed patients or in self-quarantine. Until the 15th of this month, anyone can access the Watcha Play coupon registration page through links announced on the Watcha app or Watcha’s official Instagram and Facebook accounts, and by entering the phrase '왓챠와함께이겨내요' (Let’s overcome together with Watcha), they can enjoy 3 days of free use without entering payment information.
