[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] The results of the 5th constituency primary election for the 21st National Assembly election of the Democratic Party of Korea have been announced.
According to the results announced on the 5th by the Democratic Party of Korea Central Election Commission, preliminary candidates Yoon Young-deok for Dong·Nam-gu (Gap) in Gwangju Metropolitan City, Yang Hyang-ja for Seo-gu (Eul), and Park Si-jong for Gwangsan-gu (Eul) have secured their spots in the April 15 general election.
In the Dong·Nam-gu (Gap) constituency, Yoon Young-deok, former administrative officer of the Blue House Civil Affairs Office under President Moon Jae-in, won the nomination over former Nam-gu Mayor Choi Young-ho.
In Seo-gu (Eul), where a three-way primary was held, Yang Hyang-ja, former Supreme Council member of the Democratic Party of Korea, defeated Lee Nam-jae, former special political advisor to Jeonnam Governor Lee Nak-yeon, and Ko Sam-seok, former standing commissioner of the Korea Communications Commission.
In Gwangsan-gu (Eul), Park Si-jong, former senior administrative officer of the Blue House National Situation Room under President Moon Jae-in, surpassed former Gwangsan-gu Mayor Min Hyung-bae.
In Jeonbuk, preliminary candidates Kim Yoon-duk for Jeonju-si (Gap), Lee Sang-jik for Jeonju-si (Eul), and Lee Kang-rae for Namwon·Imsil·Sunchang secured their nominations.
