Busan Chamber of Commerce Requests Designation as Official Mask Supply Network Nationwide
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Jonghyo] The Busan Chamber of Commerce and Industry has proposed supplying quarantine masks to workers using nationwide chambers of commerce and industry.
On the 5th, the Busan Chamber of Commerce and Industry delivered a proposal titled ‘Request to Designate Nationwide Chambers of Commerce and Industry as Official Mask Supply Sources’ to three organizations: the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters, the Ministry of Health and Welfare, and the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency, through consultations with the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the National Metropolitan City Chambers of Commerce and Industry Council.
In the proposal, the Busan Chamber of Commerce and Industry stated that if the chambers of commerce and industry, which have a network in 73 regions nationwide, are utilized as official mask supply sources for corporate workers, it would not only unify the mask supply channels for industrial sites but also help monitor various damage cases caused by the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) situation. Therefore, they expect the government to actively consider this.
