Daejeon City Closes 43 Shincheonji Facilities and Conducts Regular On-Site Inspections
[Asia Economy (Daejeon) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] Daejeon City has closed 43 facilities related to the Shincheonji Church of Jesus distributed in the region and will conduct regular on-site inspections of these facilities.
According to the city on the 5th, one Shincheonji Daegu Church worshipper tested positive for COVID-19 on both the 3rd and 5th after attending services in Daejeon.
The closure of Shincheonji-related facilities and on-site inspections are being carried out to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the region through Shincheonji members.
The on-site inspections are conducted by organizing a permanent inspection team of 10 employees from the City Hall's Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau and the Autonomy and Decentralization Bureau, who will inspect once daily until the 8th. From the 9th, inspections will be conducted twice a week.
The city will also conduct patrols through the administrative welfare centers of the autonomous districts. These centers, which have high accessibility to the closed facilities, will be used to carry out intensive monitoring activities.
This measure is being promoted following residents' reports that Shincheonji members have been visiting the recently closed Shincheonji-related facilities (commercial buildings).
