According to Korea Railroad Corporation (KORAIL) on the 5th, since the 28th of last month, medical personnel such as doctors and nurses traveling to Daegu and Gyeongbuk can use all trains, including KTX, free of charge.
In addition, from this day forward, KORAIL's policy is to expand the free train ride area for medical volunteers to all regions nationwide.
This measure reflects the on-site situation where confirmed COVID-19 patients continue to increase, leading to more cases of severe patients from medical facilities in Daegu and Gyeongbuk being transferred to hospitals in other regions.
Medical staff can board and alight trains free of charge by presenting medical volunteer application forms and verification documents at the station ticket window as proof of their volunteer status.
