Apple's iPhone SE2 Launch Imminent...Entering Final Production Stage
[Asia Economy Reporter Seulgina Cho] Reports have emerged that Apple's budget smartphone 'iPhone SE2 (tentative name)', originally scheduled for release in the first half of the year, has entered the final production stage. This is being seen as a sign that the launch is imminent.
On the 4th (local time), Apple Insider cited multiple industry sources stating that the iPhone SE2 has recently entered the final production stage at Apple's Zhengzhou manufacturing plant in China, undergoing LCD screen verification and other processes. The iPhone SE2 is reported to be equipped with Apple's latest mobile chipset, the A13 processor, 3GB of RAM, and a 4.7-inch display.
Initially, industry observers predicted that the release of the iPhone SE2 would be delayed due to disruptions in Apple's supply chain in China caused by the COVID-19 outbreak. However, Apple Insider reported, "It does not seem to be significantly affected by the impact of COVID-19," and added, "It will be released soon."

Nonetheless, it is noted that the impact of COVID-19 cannot be completely ruled out. Apple Insider estimated the release timing to be at the end of March but pointed out that it could be delayed depending on the spread of COVID-19. Furthermore, even if the release occurs as scheduled at the end of this month, there are concerns that supply may be insufficient. The outlet also mentioned the recent consecutive cancellations of large-scale ICT conferences and launch events, adding that the possibility of Apple holding a media event is low.
