Hanwha Group Implements Social Distancing Campaign
[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Yoon-joo] Major affiliates of Hanwha Group are actively participating in the 'social distancing' campaign to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
Hanwha Group announced on the 4th that each company is implementing measures such as joint holidays and expanded telecommuting.
Hanwha Solutions will implement a two-shift alternating work schedule (two-team system) starting today. One team will come to the office, while the other team will work from home. The team coming to the office will be encouraged to use staggered commuting hours (7 AM to 10 AM) to alleviate congestion on public transportation.
The Chemical and Advanced Materials divisions of Hanwha Solutions will hold joint holidays twice, on this Friday (6th) and next Friday (13th). Depending on the spread of COVID-19, they are also considering expanding joint holidays to every Friday.
Hanwha Life Insurance will implement telecommuting for one day on the 5th at its headquarters only. It had previously held joint holidays on the 2nd. After analyzing the results of telecommuting, it plans to actively consider continuous telecommuting in the future.
Hanwha Investment & Securities will conduct telecommuting for two days, on the 4th and 5th. Employees are divided into two teams, each working from home one day. Hanwha Investment & Securities is also actively reviewing plans to expand telecommuting.
Hanwha Asset Management has divided all employees into three teams since February 28 and is conducting rotational telecommuting every two days. Hanwha Systems ICT division has divided employees into two teams and will conduct telecommuting for three days each from the 5th to the 18th.
Hanwha Galleria forms teams among employees whose work does not overlap to implement days off, annual leave, and telecommuting, maintaining an office attendance rate below 50%. The Ilsan Aqua Planet operated by Hanwha Hotels & Resorts is closed on weekdays until the 13th.
In addition, affiliates that cannot implement full telecommuting due to the nature of their work are actively encouraging telecommuting for employees according to the situation and work requirements.
In the case of Hanwha Total, about 30 employees, including women with children in third grade or below and pregnant women, are telecommuting until the COVID-19 situation ends.
