KOSPI Recovers to 2000 Level... KOSDAQ Rises 2.77%
[Asia Economy Reporter Geum Bo-ryeong] On the 2nd, the KOSPI closed above the 2000 mark.
On that day, the KOSPI closed at 2002.51, up 15.50 points (0.78%) from the previous session.
The KOSPI opened at 1997.03, up 10.02 points (0.50%) from the previous trading day, and seemed to continue its upward trend, but it fell to 1969.34 during the session, breaking below the 1970 level. However, it maintained strength after 10:20 AM.
In the securities market, individuals and institutions net bought 461.7 billion KRW and 269.7 billion KRW respectively. Meanwhile, foreigners net sold 783 billion KRW.
By sector, chemicals (0.96%), pharmaceuticals (1.98%), non-metallic minerals (1.38%), and electrical & electronics (2.09%) rose, while textiles & apparel (0.58%), steel & metals (1.22%), and transportation equipment (1.42%) declined.
Among the top 10 companies by market capitalization, Samsung Electronics (1.48%), SK Hynix (4.78%), Samsung Biologics (0.76%), NAVER (0.57%), and LG Chem (2.45%) rose, while Hyundai Motor (1.3%) and Hyundai Mobis (1.43%) fell.
On the same day, the KOSDAQ showed a rise of over 2.7%. The KOSDAQ closed at 627.66, up 16.93 points (2.77%) from the previous session.
The KOSDAQ opened at 617.88, up 7.15 points (1.17%) from the previous session, and although it appeared to fluctuate briefly, it continued its upward trend after 9:46 AM.
In the KOSDAQ market, individuals net sold 222.2 billion KRW. Foreigners and institutions net bought 120.1 billion KRW and 109.8 billion KRW respectively.
By sector, semiconductors (4.74%), textiles & apparel (3.48%), paper & wood (3.2%), and chemicals (2.87%) rose.

Among the top 10 companies by market capitalization, Pearl Abyss (0.06%) was the only one to decline. Celltrion Healthcare (1.23%), HLB (0.21%), KMW (1.44%), EcoPro BM (4.31%), and Hugel (7.18%) showed upward trends.
