The Best Managers Evaluated by Ministry of Science and ICT Employees... Director Lee Tae-hee and Others
[Asia Economy Reporter Joselgina] Lee Tae-hee, Director of the Network Policy Office, and others were selected as the 'Best Managers' chosen directly by employees of the Ministry of Science and ICT.
The National Public Officials Labor Union Ministry of Science and ICT Branch announced the results of the '2020 Excellent Manager Survey' conducted on February 2nd targeting employees of the Ministry of Science and ICT headquarters and affiliated institutions such as the National Radio Research Agency and the Central Radio Management Office.
The survey, conducted from the 20th to the 26th of last month, evaluated all employees including non-union members on senior managers (headquarters directors and bureau chiefs) and middle managers (department heads, team leaders, and section chiefs) within their organizations from the perspectives of ethics, job performance ability, leadership, and contribution to organizational culture.
The excellent managers at the headquarters director and bureau chief level included Lee Tae-hee, Director of the Network Policy Office; Yong Hong-taek, Director of the Research and Development Policy Office; and Kang Do-hyun, Policy Officer for AI-based Policy. At the department head and team leader level, Jang Byung-joo, Head of Innovation Administration Division; Seo Sung-il, Head of the Information and Communication Industry Policy Division; and Eom Yeol, Head of the Telecommunications Policy Planning Division were selected.
Additionally, at affiliated institutions, Oh Hak-tae, Head of the Radio Environment Safety Division of the National Radio Research Agency; Chae Sung-chul, System Officer of the Information and Communication Conformity Evaluation Division; Ko Chang-hyu, Head of the Support Division; and at the Central Radio Management Office, Park In-geon, Section Chief of the Wireless Station Operations Division; Han Chung-gyu, Section Chief of the Support Division; and Baek Seung-il, Section Chief of the Radio Planning Division were chosen as excellent managers.
The National Public Officials Labor Union Ministry of Science and ICT Branch plans to award the six excellent managers from headquarters and six from affiliated institutions with ministerial commendations at an appropriate time when the COVID-19 situation subsides, recognizing their contributions to changes in organizational culture.

Lee Ui-gi, the union chairman, said, "We planned this survey with the hope that the workplace culture of the Ministry of Science and ICT would change by contributing to the improvement of the harmful effects of hierarchical society and performance-oriented organizational culture," adding, "Labor and management will work together to create a good workplace free of abuse of power."
