[Distribution Hot People] LG Saenggeon 'Naebukeu' Specialized Training Leads to New Life as Beauty YouTuber
[Asia Economy Reporter Yujin Jo] "Since I have to handle the entire process of beauty video production alone?from planning to shooting and editing?both skills and perseverance are crucial. The techniques I learned in LG Household & Health Care's 'Natural Beauty Creator (hereafter Naebukeu)' program laid the foundation for mastering video editing skills, and I was also able to make reliable colleagues."
Minji Kim (Minkaya), who is active as a beauty creator on YouTube, is a first-generation participant of LG Household & Health Care's social contribution program Naebukeu. Kim said, "Before applying to Naebukeu, I tried uploading beauty videos on YouTube by myself, but doing it alone was not easy, and I desperately needed professional training. Then, by chance, I saw the recruitment announcement for Naebukeu by LG Household & Health Care and decided to participate."
A beauty creator refers to a professional who produces beauty-related content and shares it through social network services (SNS) such as YouTube or Instagram. Centered around SNS, beauty creators have gained popularity comparable to celebrities and exert tremendous influence on consumers, rapidly becoming the core of the beauty industry. However, there was a lack of specialized institutions to nurture them. LG Household & Health Care operates the Naebukeu program in this context.
Launched in 2018 as part of its social contribution efforts, LG Household & Health Care’s Naebukeu supports young job seekers aged 10 to 30 and women whose careers were interrupted due to childbirth or childcare to start a new life as beauty creators. The program consists of 10 weeks of practical training in beauty video planning and production, followed by 4 months of hands-on training (theme-based missions, mentoring). Kim said, "During the total six months of education and activities, I received various support from LG Household & Health Care, which helped me develop the qualities and capabilities of a beauty creator and explore my career path." In February last year, Kim also won first place in the mission award themed 'Purchasing and introducing desired products at the Nature Collection store.'
Kim’s main fields are beauty and fashion, but she is also expanding her interests into interior design and diet (health functional foods). She said, "I believe interior design and diet are connected to personal lifestyle, which allows Minkaya to have a unique and distinctive style. It is also encouraging that subscriber inflow for diet videos has recently increased significantly." Her subscriber count recently surpassed 10,000. The core subscriber base is aged 18 to 24, with a growing proportion of foreigners.
Kim said, "In the world of beauty creators, the battle of ideas is important, and I believe the more you see, the richer your ideas become. So I often visit Seongsu-dong, Hongdae, and Itaewon to get inspiration. I also frequently interact with fellow trainees from Naebukeu to share information."

Most of her income comes from advertising. She is currently conducting product placement (PPL) sponsorships with 7 to 8 companies. Her personal beauty philosophy is 'combination.' She said, "I prefer makeup that emphasizes color combinations and fashion styling that focuses on one bold point rather than being too much," adding, "I will soon make a comeback as a beauty creator with one million subscribers."
