View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Kangwook Cho] The Export-Import Bank of Korea announced on the 1st that it has completed emergency disinfection operations following the occurrence of confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) and will resume normal operations from the 2nd.
The employee who was initially confirmed positive on the 27th of last month tested negative in the 2nd and 3rd tests, and all three family members also tested negative. They are currently isolated in a university hospital awaiting the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency's decision on release from quarantine.
Among 14 close contacts within the bank, 13 tested negative, and one is awaiting results.
On the 29th of last month, the bank held an emergency countermeasure committee meeting chaired by President Bang Moon-kyu to respond to the crisis situation and decided to divide all employees into three groups to work from home for three days each from the 2nd to the 12th.
This measure by the bank was prepared to minimize the possibility of sudden head office closure and employee quarantine in case additional COVID-19 cases occur and to reduce the risk of further infection.
In particular, the bank plans to strengthen measures to maintain business continuity by dualizing the work locations of key departments such as credit, funds, and IT between the head office and alternative workplaces.
Since the COVID-19 infectious disease crisis began, the bank has been operating a COVID-19 crisis response headquarters since the 4th of last month to review its Business Continuity Plan (BCP) and prepare for confirmed cases within the bank.
