Gyeonggi Siheung-si Reports 5th COVID-19 Case... Male in His 30s (Update)
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heung-soon] On the 29th, one additional confirmed case of COVID-19 was reported in Siheung-si, Gyeonggi Province.
Siheung-si announced that a 30-year-old man residing in Neunggok-dong was confirmed positive for COVID-19 in the afternoon and is being transferred to Gyeonggi Provincial Medical Center Anseong Hospital. The number of patients in the area has increased to five.
According to Siheung-si, the man began showing symptoms on the 18th and underwent diagnostic testing at the Central Hospital screening clinic on the 27th. The city has completed disinfection of the confirmed patient's residence and surrounding areas and is investigating the patient's movements and contacts.
Meanwhile, the first confirmed patient in Siheung-si, the 25th nationwide case (73-year-old female), was discharged on the 22nd after symptoms improved but was re-confirmed positive six days later.

The health authorities explained, "The patient is quite elderly and immunocompromised, so it is presumed that COVID-19 recurred," adding, "If the patient were healthy, immunity such as antibodies would have formed after recovering from COVID-19, enabling defense against reinfection, but this was likely difficult in this case."
