Resident-Led Shared Facilities and High-Density Areas to Undergo Intensive Disinfection Three Times Weekly
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] The Yang 3-dong Community Service Center in Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Director Song Mincheol) announced on the 28th that it will form and operate a resident autonomous disaster prevention group called the ‘Byeolbit Balsan Autonomous Disaster Prevention Group’ to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
The Byeolbit Balsan Autonomous Disaster Prevention Group is led by members of self-governing organizations such as resident autonomy committee members and youth enterprises, working for the safety of neighbors and the village during the difficult phase of COVID-19 spread.
The disaster prevention group is organized into two teams that will conduct focused spraying disinfection two to three times a week in densely populated areas, starting with senior centers, daycare centers, and day care centers, followed by the community service center, parks, and shared facilities in apartment complexes.
A representative of the autonomous disaster prevention group said, “The local residents formed this group themselves to ensure the safety of the village and to alleviate the anxiety of neighbors caused by COVID-19,” adding, “If residents unite like this and make every effort to block the infection, we will soon overcome these difficult and challenging times.”
