Seoul Donhwamun Gugakdang, Planned Performance on 29th: No-Audience Show + Online Live Streaming
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Byung-hee] Seoul Donhwamun Gugakdang announced on the 27th that due to the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), the joint planned performance "You Have to Look Closely to See the Beauty" scheduled for the 29th will be held as a no-audience performance, but will be live-streamed through official online channels.
The live-streamed performance video can be viewed on the Seoul Donhwamun Gugakdang Facebook and YouTube Seoul Donhwamun Gugakdang channels.
"You Have to Look Closely to See the Beauty" is a lecture concert prepared by Seoul Donhwamun Gugakdang every Saturday in February, and on the 29th, Professor Jeong So-hee, a daegeum performer from Yongin University’s Department of Gugak, will take the stage. In the previous four performances, performers of geomungo, piri, gayageum, and haegeum took the stage.
Seoul Donhwamun Gugakdang plans to temporarily close until the 9th of next month as the COVID-19 crisis alert level has been raised to the highest stage, "serious." Considering the positions of artists and audiences, they explained that instead of fully canceling the performances, they prepared online live streaming through no-audience performances.
Furthermore, they announced that performances canceled due to COVID-19 will be rescheduled and staged again in the second half of 2020. They added that the planned performance "Undang Inn Music Concert" scheduled for March will also prepare a plan to safely continue the performance by conducting no-audience performances and online live streaming if cancellation becomes inevitable.
