Thailand Reports 3 Additional COVID-19 Cases, Total Now 40
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Yuri] On the 26th, three new cases of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) were confirmed in Thailand, bringing the total number of patients to 40.
According to major foreign media on the day, the Thai Ministry of Public Health reported that among the three additional patients in Thailand, two had returned from a trip to Hokkaido, Japan, and had contact with the other additional patient, an 8-year-old boy.
One of the confirmed patients is known to have initially concealed their travel history to a 'high-risk infection country' and later admitted it. A male patient who had visited Japan did not disclose his travel to a high-risk area when he visited the hospital with suspicious symptoms.
The B Care Medical Center in the Saimai area of Bangkok, where this patient was tested, stated, "This man did not disclose his overseas travel history until the day after the test," and added, "Thirty medical staff who had contact with the patient tested negative but are currently under self-quarantine."
