Mercedes-Benz Unveils Multiple New Models for the First Time at Geneva Motor Show
[Asia Economy Reporter Kiho Sung] Mercedes-Benz announced on the 26th that it will unveil numerous new cars and technologies for the first time in the world at the 2020 Geneva International Motor Show, opening on the 5th of next month in Geneva, Switzerland, including the facelift model of the 10th generation premium sedan E-Class.
At this motor show, Mercedes-Benz will reveal for the first time in the world the facelift model of its best-selling premium sedan E-Class, three high-performance AMG models including the AMG E-Class and two AMG SUVs, a new compact plug-in hybrid vehicle, and the compact camper van Marco Polo equipped with Mercedes-Benz Advanced Control. In addition, Mercedes-Benz will exhibit the Vision AVTR concept car, which was unveiled for the first time worldwide at CES 2020, for the first time in Europe.
The newly facelifted E-Class will be offered in various hybrid versions, one of which will be unveiled at this motor show. The new E-Class features a more dynamic design, such as a sporty Avantgarde exterior, and incorporates numerous new technologies including the latest Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC, Active Stop-and-Go Assist, and Active Steering Assist. It provides a new interior experience with a completely redesigned steering wheel and a standard 10.25-inch (26 cm) widescreen alongside the MBUX multimedia system.
The compact camper van Marco Polo, revealed as a world premiere, combines the intuitive infotainment system MBUX with the newly developed MBAC interface module. MBAC allows control of functions such as lighting and heating in the vehicle’s living space via apps or the cockpit’s touch display. The Vision AVTR, introduced for the first time in Europe, is a concept car inspired by director James Cameron’s film "Avatar." It concretely presents the vision of future mobility and offers a completely new interaction between humans, machines, and nature.
