Winia Dimchae Donates 100 Washing Machines to Daegu Threatened by COVID-19
[Asia Economy Reporter Ki-min Lee] Winia Dimchae has stepped up to help Daegu Metropolitan City, which is facing a comprehensive crisis due to the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
On the 25th, Winia Dimchae announced that it will donate 100 units of the 15kg model Winia washing machines to Daegu Metropolitan City. Daegu is the city with the highest number of confirmed COVID-19 cases nationwide.
According to the official announcement from the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, as of 4 p.m. on the 24th, the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in South Korea is 833, of which the cumulative number of confirmed cases in Daegu is 498.
The donated 15kg model Winia washing machines will be distributed under the direction of Daegu city to local residents, medical facilities, quarantine organizations, and other places in need to help prevent and overcome COVID-19.
Winia Dimchae stated that this decision was made because the hygiene environment for medical institutions and family-unit quarantine subjects has become increasingly important.
Winia Dimchae explained that the washing machines donated to Daegu this time are suitable for responding to COVID-19 because they are large-capacity models capable of washing various types of clothing and are equipped with a full cleaning function to maintain a safe hygienic state.
Kim Hyuk-pyo, CEO of Winia Dimchae, said, “As the government and the entire nation are actively responding to COVID-19, we hope that the public will have more hope,” and added, “We expect that the citizens of Daegu, who are most heartbroken, will be able to return to their daily lives soon with the support from all over the country.”
