Changwon City Confirms 4 Additional COVID-19 Cases, Total Now 5 Confirmed
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Son Tae-seok] Changwon City, Gyeongnam Province, announced at around 2 p.m. on the 23rd that Mayor Heo Seong-mu held an emergency briefing and revealed that 4 additional confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) have been identified. As of 10 a.m. that day, the total number of confirmed cases in Changwon City was 5.
The additional confirmed cases are from the 2nd case (Gyeongnam 7th) to the 5th case (Gyeongnam 14th), which occurred after 6 p.m. on the 22nd. The 2nd confirmed case (Gyeongnam 7th) is the son of the first confirmed case that occurred on the 22nd and was confirmed to have visited Daegu 23 times recently. He is currently receiving treatment at Busan National University Hospital in Yangsan.
The 2nd confirmed case had a slight fever since the 18th and visited Changwon Hospital on the 19th. It was investigated that he was prescribed medication for a cold as there were no pneumonia symptoms.
The 3rd confirmed case (Gyeongnam 10th) is a man in his 40s residing in Seongsan-gu and is a close contact of the first confirmed case. He has been transferred to Gyeongsang National University Hospital in Changwon.
The 4th confirmed case (Gyeongnam 12th) is a teenage female university student residing in Masanhappo-gu. She was confirmed to have attended the Shincheonji Daegu Church on the 16th and has been transferred to Masan Medical Center.
The 5th confirmed case (Gyeongnam 14th) is a man in his 30s residing in Masanhappo-gu, with a history of visiting the Shincheonji Daegu Church on the 9th.
