After the meeting, the self-quarantine facilities for Chinese international students on campus were directly inspected to ensure there were no inconveniences in their use, and thorough preparations were made through cooperation between the government and the university.
Additionally, Muan County provided support including a shuttle bus for international students funded by Jeollanam-do, 1,000 masks, 1,000 portable hand sanitizers, 1,000 disinfectant sprays, 60 thermometers, and 10 first aid kits. The shuttle bus was operated to safely transport Chinese international students from the airport to the university on their arrival day, minimizing exposure. Mokpo National University and Chodang University plan to do their best to persuade international students to prevent infection spread caused by delayed arrivals.
The county will continue to supply quarantine supplies, conduct patient transport and specimen collection if abnormalities occur, and provide medical consultation if necessary. Health status will be monitored through fever and temperature checks, and continuous inspections will be conducted to ensure personal meal provision and adherence to personal hygiene.
In particular, Mokpo National University, Chodang University, and Chinese international students will strictly enforce a 14-day self-quarantine, with all students living in single rooms within the university dormitories (residence halls).
Muan County Governor Kim San stated, "We will do our utmost to prevent the 'COVID-19' virus from infecting the local community," and added, "We ask residents to wear masks and thoroughly manage personal hygiene such as handwashing to avoid infection, and we express our gratitude to each university that is doing its best to prevent the spread of infection."
