View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Daeseop] KCC announced on the 24th that its new employees volunteered their talents to gift audio storybooks to children from reading-vulnerable families.
The audiobook recording session took place on the 21st at a studio in Seoul, with about 10 new employees gathered. The social enterprise Aloha Ideas also participated in the sharing activity.
The new employees underwent preparation, including voice acting training from professional voice actors, before recording the storybooks. Given the nature of audiobooks, where content is listened to rather than read, they carefully marked difficult or important parts with pens and attached post-its to check thoroughly during recording.
Following rehearsals according to their assigned roles, they entered the recording booth, checked microphones and headsets, and began recording. The voice recording lasted about four hours. Audiobooks for four storybooks?'Selling Eye Styes', 'The Tortoise and the Hare', 'Mom's Hands are Healing Hands', and 'Lizard, Lizard, Bring the Rain'?were recorded.
The storybooks recorded in the studio will be produced into audiobooks through expert editing. Along with postcards containing messages supporting the bright future of children, they will be delivered to child welfare facilities nationwide, including Graceville in Asan, Chungnam; Shinmyeong Imaru in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi; Seongnam Orphanage in Seosan, Chungnam; and Aehyang Child Welfare Center in Gimcheon, Gyeongbuk.
