Lee Seok-hyung Preliminary Candidate “Building a Korea Where Families Are Happy and Empowered”
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Lee Seok-hyung, the Democratic Party of Korea's preliminary candidate for Gwangsan-gap, Gwangju Metropolitan City, announced on the 23rd the third part of the Ogwang (Five Lights) series, focusing on welfare pledges to make people and families happy and to brighten Gwangsan, Gwangju, stating, "I will devote all my efforts to building a country where families are happy and a Republic of Korea that empowers families."
Candidate Lee Seok-hyung said, "This pledge aims for coexistence between the metropolitan area and local regions, balanced national development, and the establishment of a healthy civil society," and promised, "I will take the lead in resolving citizens' difficulties by preparing systematic national support plans by gender and age."
He stated, "To address the difficulties of parents seeking better educational environments for their children and young people moving to cities for employment, I will legislate policies where the state takes full responsibility for education, strengthen and enforce compliance with the Youth Employment Promotion Special Act standards, prepare support bills for corporate application, expand the scope of youth eligibility (raising the age range) and increase the ratio, and establish laws mandating the expansion of labor inspectors and a dedicated minimum wage inspector system," adding, "I will devote all efforts to improving employment environments to expand jobs where youth are respected and increase opportunities for social participation."
He continued, "I will do my best to create a gender-equal environment to expand women's representation and abolish gender-discriminatory social customs to strengthen women's expertise," emphasizing, "Through support for the establishment of a complete responsibility care system, I will expand school and community care, and closely cooperate with the government to introduce related systems and expand support to prohibit discrimination against non-regular female workers."

Furthermore, he said, "I will devote all efforts to preparing legislative policies to expand leisure, health, and welfare for the elderly in the transition to an aging society," and added, "I will realize the national responsibility system for dementia by expanding elderly health promotion projects, enact the Disability Rights Protection Act, establish a customized service support system, and promote the introduction of the Hometown Tax and Hometown Love Donation System."
