[Asia Economy Reporter Yoon Shin-won] Lee Eon-ju, a member of the Future United Party, criticized President Moon Jae-in's invitation of director Bong Joon-ho and the cast and crew of the film Parasite to the Blue House, saying, "I cannot understand President Moon's mindset of trying to take credit for the Parasite movie in the midst of this situation."
On the 21st, Lee posted on his Facebook, "Just a few days ago, the president said that the end of COVID-19 was near, but today the number of confirmed cases has surpassed 100 and the virus is raging, and ultimately someone died yesterday," adding, "The image of the president boasting about donating an enormous number of masks to China a few days ago flashes through the minds of citizens searching for masks at pharmacies and marts due to mask shortages, fueling their anger."
He continued, "The medical community warned long ago to ban Chinese entry, but the person who did nothing and neglected this was none other than the president of the Republic of Korea," and said, "As the suffering of the people grows, the president and first lady, afflicted with a popularity obsession, only put on event shows and have not a shred of responsibility for the people's livelihood and safety. Their innocent actions and expressions will surely provoke the people's anger."
Regarding Chinese President Xi Jinping's visit to Korea, he said, "What is this and that? Can't you see the people's eyes reddening with anger as they listen?" and criticized, "Even in this situation, they are putting on a visit show just to raise approval ratings. They only think about seizing and maintaining power, and have no thought at all about how to responsibly run the country with that power. It's pathetic."
He added, "If the virus were to rage starting from our country, I doubt China would react like you," and said, "Why should China's difficulties be our difficulties? Did we tell you to abandon the safety of the Korean people and blindly flatter China?"

Before donating masks to China and worrying about China, take care of our own people."
