Dongshin University Joins Efforts to Revive Local Businesses Affected by 'Corona'
'Flower Giving Campaign' Launched... Delivered to Graduates Visiting the School
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Dongshin University participated in the 'Buy Flowers Campaign' to support local floriculture farms struggling due to the cancellation of graduation and entrance ceremonies caused by COVID-19.
Dongshin University purchased 1,000 roses from local floriculture farms and distributed one rose each to graduates who came to receive their 2019 academic year diplomas in each department on that day.
President Choi Il, along with key officials, personally handed out roses to graduates wearing caps and gowns who were taking commemorative graduation photos in front of the university central library plaza.
Due to concerns over the spread of COVID-19, Dongshin University canceled the 2019 academic year degree conferment ceremony scheduled for that day and arranged for diplomas to be picked up at the department offices.
However, for graduates who wished to take commemorative photos, caps and gowns (graduation gowns) were rented out by each department.
