Na Kyung-won: "Is it time for President Moon to leisurely eat 'Jjapaguri'?"
[Asia Economy Reporter Heo Midam] Na Kyung-won, a member of the Future United Party, criticized President Moon Jae-in on the 20th for inviting the production team and actors of the movie "Parasite" to the Blue House, saying, "Is this the time to leisurely eat Jjapaguri?"
In a post on her Facebook on the same day, Rep. Na said, "It was a day when the entire nation was anxious over the news of the spread of COVID-19, with confirmed cases exceeding 100 and the first death reported posthumously," adding, "Even if I try to understand it as a pre-scheduled congratulatory event, is this the time to leisurely eat Jjapaguri?"
She said, "Ahead of the mid-March semester start, I visited Chung-Ang University to inspect the management and response regarding Chinese international students," and added, "The issues on site were much more serious than expected."
She continued, "Universities do not have the legal authority to forcibly quarantine Chinese international students or suspected patients, and only about 10% of all international students reside in dormitories, so management of the remaining 90% of students inevitably falls into a blind spot."
Rep. Na emphasized, "The government is entirely shifting the responsibility for about 70,000 Chinese international students onto the universities," adding, "If the number of suspected patients increases exponentially, it could become a 'national disaster' exposing not only universities but the entire local community to COVID-19 without any defense."
She also criticized, "It is already too late," and said, "The government's measures are deplorable, as they do not think about plugging the hole in the water jar but try to scoop up the leaking water."
