Seoul City Deploys 'School Security Officers' in All Special Schools... Total of 60 Personnel
Including 32 Private Schools
1,200 Students in National and Public Elementary Schools
[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunju Lee] The Seoul Metropolitan Government will deploy 'School Security Guards' to all 32 special schools.
The city announced on the 21st that following last year's deployment of school security guards to public special schools, this year it will expand the deployment to private special schools as well.
By the end of this year, there will be a total of 1,260 school security guards. This includes 1,200 guards at 564 public elementary schools, 26 guards at 14 public special schools, and 34 guards at 18 private special schools. School security guards are responsible for managing access inside and outside the schools and guiding traffic safety during school arrival and dismissal times.
In line with the expanded deployment of school security guards, the city plans to select 40 schools this year to improve facilities and strengthen the physical fitness standards for school security guards to enhance the program's effectiveness.
