Hanan Labor Union Meets with Democratic Party General Election Preliminary Candidate Regarding SRF Cogeneration Plant

View original image[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] The Korea District Heating Corporation Labor Union (Chairman Lee Hong-seong, hereinafter referred to as Hanhan Labor Union) announced on the 20th that on the 18th and 19th, they held in-depth meetings regarding the Naju SRF Combined Heat and Power Plant issue with Shin Jeong-hoon and Kim Byeong-won, the Democratic Party of Korea preliminary candidates for Jeonnam Naju·Hwasun constituency, respectively.
At the meeting, Lee Hong-seong, chairman of the Hanhan Labor Union, explained that since December 2018, to resolve the Naju SRF Combined Heat and Power Plant issue, a public-private cooperation governance committee composed of stakeholders including the Citizens' Committee (hereinafter referred to as the Committee), Jeonnam Province, and Naju City held 14 meetings and reached a difficult agreement, so the spirit of the agreement must not be violated.
He also emphasized that Hanhan plans to manage the operation of the SRF power plant for environmental impact assessment based on the mutually agreed contents through the public-private cooperation governance, focusing on safety and eco-friendliness, and will continue to faithfully implement the agreement in the future.

Chairman Lee appealed for understanding of the basic intent of the public-private cooperation governance agreement and Hanhan's efforts to implement it. In response, the preliminary candidates expressed hope that the Naju SRF Combined Heat and Power Plant issue would be smoothly resolved according to the basic agreement of the public-private cooperation governance and mentioned that they plan to make continuous efforts for this purpose.
