Presided over by Wando County Governor Shin Woo-cheol, the meeting was attended by a total of about 40 people, including 25 team leaders from 14 departments, where the progress of 31 strategic tasks and interdepartmental cooperation matters were discussed.
The main strategic tasks include the creation of marine healing spaces, establishment of a marine healing industry ecosystem, and early preparation of a marine healing industry foundation under three goals, such as designation of marine healing districts, selection of marine healing-type fishing villages linked to the Fishing Village New Deal 300 project, and development of marine healing-linked cultural tourism content.
Wando-gun is preparing to incorporate the analysis of the bill and project plans in line with the Marine Healing Resources Act, a law related to the marine healing industry, which passed the National Assembly last month, was promulgated on the 18th, and is scheduled to be enforced on February 19 next year.
In addition, the county plans to focus its capabilities on preparing follow-up measures according to the "Marine Healing Industry Activation Plan" announced by the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries on the 15th of last month.
Governor Shin Woo-cheol of Wando said, "Although there are many difficulties such as population decline and sluggish consumption of agricultural and marine products, the marine healing industry, which is being promoted with a view to the future of Wando, will create a new development model for the fishing village economy," and emphasized, "In promoting the marine healing industry, not only the persons in charge and team leaders but all employees must unite and pool their capabilities."
A Wando-gun official said, "We plan to continuously check the progress of the marine healing industry through ongoing strategic task reporting meetings and prepare the promulgation of the Marine Healing Resources Act and activation plan measures without any setbacks."
