Jongno-gu Reports Additional COVID-19 Cases... Strengthening Quarantine Measures
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Additional COVID-19 cases have been confirmed in Jongno-gu.
The additional confirmed case is a 74-year-old male (born in 1945) residing in Buam-dong, currently isolated at Seoul Medical Center.
With the occurrence of additional confirmed cases, Jongno-gu is expanding the temporary closure of public facilities frequently used by residents, such as libraries, welfare centers, senior citizen centers, and sports facilities, beyond those currently under temporary closure.
The list of temporarily closed facilities can be found on the Jongno-gu Office website (www.jongno.go.kr).
The district is operating a 24-hour emergency response system centered on the Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters to actively respond to COVID-19.
Disinfection is continuously carried out at daycare centers, senior citizen centers, and multi-use facilities, with particular attention to disinfecting areas where international students live in groups, such as university dormitories and one-room apartments near schools.
Additionally, the district provides guidance on infection prevention measures such as handwashing and cough etiquette through SNS and the district office website. Earlier this month, a special edition of the district newsletter, Jongno Sarang, containing COVID-19 related information and preventive action guidelines, was distributed to residents.
