Hyundai Merchant Marine Publishes First 'Sustainability Management Report'
[Asia Economy Reporter Yu Je-hoon] Hyundai Merchant Marine announced on the 20th that it has published the '2019 Sustainability Management Report,' which contains the achievements and plans for promoting sustainability management.
Sustainability management refers to stakeholder-centered management activities that consider the environment, society, and governance in a balanced manner. This is the first time Hyundai Merchant Marine has published a sustainability management report.
Hyundai Merchant Marine is promoting sustainability management based on a mid- to long-term vision and strategy, and is implementing company-wide global-level policies such as human rights policy, global tax policy, and partner company code of conduct. In addition to financial business normalization, the company plans to create results through continuous investment in non-financial areas such as environment, labor, human rights, ethics, and social contribution, and will actively fulfill corporate social responsibility in the future. The report is composed of three key tasks?carbon neutrality, IT innovation, and sustainability management strategy system?and six major issues to be continuously managed.
Hyundai Merchant Marine expects that this report will contribute to enhancing trust by transparently disclosing non-financial factors. The report, published simultaneously in Korean and English, can be found on the Hyundai Merchant Marine website.
