The 'Silgeom' Will Disappear Starting from the 20th
[Asia Economy Reporter Bu Aeri] Daum's 'Real-time Issue Search' service will be terminated starting from the 20th.
Kakao stated on the 19th, "As promised on December 23rd last year, we will end the real-time search term service," adding, "This is part of our efforts to fulfill corporate social responsibility and create a healthier society."
From the 20th, the real-time issue search term service section will be removed from Daum's mobile and PC homepages, as well as media and search services. In place of the existing real-time issue search term section on the right side of the integrated search, recommended posts with similar value by category will be displayed.
Last October, Kakao temporarily suspended comments on entertainment news and revamped person-related search terms in December last year.
Kakao explained, "Recently, we judged that the real-time issue search terms have deviated from their original purpose of showing natural results and have become the starting point of phenomena rather than reflecting results. Therefore, we will terminate the real-time issue search term service and prepare a new service that can revive the original intent and positive functions."

Kakao added, "We understand that users may experience inconvenience due to the termination of the service, but we ask for your understanding as this is part of our efforts to create better services and contribute to society and users. We will introduce a new service within the year to provide benefits greater than the inconvenience."
