In an interview with Chosun Ilbo on the 19th, Representative Jo said, "After witnessing the Cho Kuk incident and the failures of the Moon Jae-in administration, I could no longer remain a 'suffering progressive,'" adding, "This general election must be a historic election to judge the arrogant and corrupt progressive regime and to rebuild an opposition party that the public can trust."
She continued, "One of my beliefs was that the Liberty Korea Party was absolutely unacceptable," explaining, "The Brand New Party leadership, including myself, was born and raised in the progressive camp such as the Democratic Party and the Justice Party, but after much deliberation, we came here with heavy steps."
When declaring her joining of the United Future Party at the National Assembly Press Hall on the 16th, she tearfully said, "There is no longer any justification to support progressivism," and "I want to create effective power to deliver a heavy and devastating warning to the regime. I feel sorry to the Honam faction members who have cherished me so much, as they seem to feel a great sense of betrayal."
