View original image[Asia Economy (Daejeon) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] This year, the number of beneficiaries of the Forest Welfare Service Voucher (hereinafter referred to as the Forest Voucher) will increase to 40,000 nationwide. Additionally, the quality of forest welfare services will be strengthened to ensure that the benefits of forest welfare are distributed evenly to all citizens.
The Korea Forest Welfare Institute announced the '2020 Major Business Promotion Plan' containing these details on the 19th at the Government Complex Daejeon.
The business plan focuses on expanding the convenience of forest welfare use for marginalized groups, establishing a job information platform (operating system), and creating good jobs this year.
First, the Forest Welfare Institute will increase the annual number of Forest Voucher beneficiaries from 35,000 last year to 40,000 this year and simplify the Forest Voucher usage procedures to strengthen support for forest welfare services for marginalized groups.
Furthermore, the institute will enhance the quality of forest welfare services by expanding facilities such as exclusive rooms for the disabled within forest welfare facilities, sharing forests, and barrier-free sharing paths to improve convenience for marginalized groups.
In addition, new projects are planned, such as directly operating forest vegetable gardens to independently develop healing foods using forest products and applying them widely on-site.
The Forest Welfare Institute plans to open the National Chuncheon Forest Experience Center and the National Naju Forest Experience Center this year and diversify forest welfare services through unique programs at each facility.
The Chuncheon Forest Experience Center will be operated as a forest sports specialized facility, including an adventure forest and a glamping site (luxury camping site), reflecting the active leisure demands of urban residents, while the Naju Forest Experience Center will be developed as a forest culture specialized facility with forest tea gardens and tea fields, aiming for differentiation between the facilities.
In the job sector, the Forest Welfare Institute plans to build a forest welfare service and job information platform to support the market expansion of forest welfare professionals' services and the creation of good jobs, thereby establishing a forest welfare ecosystem that grows together.
Alongside this, the institute envisions creating smart forest welfare facilities utilizing information and communication technology (ICT), providing customer-centered customized convergence services, expanding the private sector's self-reliance base, and leading innovative growth in the forest welfare industry through the development and dissemination of innovative technologies.
