Gwangju Gwangsan Fire Station Accelerates Promotion of 'Apartment Lightweight Partition Walls'
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Gwangju Gwangsan Fire Station (Chief Moon Gisik) has launched a campaign to promote the importance of ‘Apartment Lightweight Partition Walls’ to residents of apartment complexes.
According to Gwangsan Fire Station on the 18th, lightweight partition walls are installed on balconies of floors above the third floor to allow evacuation to neighboring units in case evacuation through the front door or stairs is difficult during a fire.
They are made of gypsum material that can be easily broken by anyone regardless of age or gender.
However, some households frequently install built-in closets or storage cabinets around the lightweight partition walls to solve insufficient storage space, which obstructs evacuation. Therefore, Gwangsan Fire Station is focusing on raising awareness.
