Yoo Il-jun Lawyer Added to Future United Party's Candidate Committee... Kim Hyung-o "No More Additions"
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyemin] Kim Hyung-o, the chairman of the nomination management committee, added lawyer Yoo Il-jun as a committee member representing the United Future Party.
Chairman Kim held a press conference on the 18th and stated, "We intend to recruit one more member to the nomination committee."
Lawyer Yoo from the law firm Logos served as the Blue House Public Service Discipline Secretary during the Park Geun-hye administration in 2015. Chairman Kim introduced him by saying, "Currently, the nomination committee is overwhelmed with work and time is tight, so we decided to increase the staff by one. He is well-known for his personnel verification skills both as a prosecutor and during his time at the Blue House."
Regarding the possibility of further additions to the nomination committee, Chairman Kim drew a line by saying, "There is no room for further increase."
On the same day, Chairman Kim also announced the recruitment of three female talents. They are Professor Yoon Hee-sook of the Korea Development Institute (KDI) Graduate School of International Policy, CEO Ha Ji-won of Eco Mom Korea, and lawyer Lee Soo-hee of the law firm Hanbyul.
Chairman Kim introduced Professor Moon by saying, "She is a populism fighter who voices principled and sincere opinions, with expertise in the overall economy, especially employment, labor, welfare, and wages. As an economic expert, she has been known to speak candidly and sincerely to members of the National Assembly."
He also emphasized about CEO Ha, "She is an environmental expert with 20 years of dedicated practical experience. I believe her organization is the only environmental-related partner registered with a UN-affiliated agency."
Regarding lawyer Lee, he said, "She is a self-made middle-class working mom, born as the daughter of a West German miner, and has lived alongside ordinary people."
Chairman Kim stated, "They will face the judgment of the people in constituencies, not through proportional representation. We will strategically consider the regions."
