It was announced on the 17th that the "Partial Amendment Ordinance on Support for Village Communities in Jeollanam-do," which was proposed by Jeonnam Provincial Council member Woo Seunghee, passed the Economic Tourism and Culture Committee review at the 337th extraordinary session on the 13th.
The amended ordinance newly establishes the governor's responsibility to promote cooperation between the village community creation project and the village education community activation project. It also allows cities and counties to support the integrated installation of the "Village Community Creation Support Center" and the "Village Education Community Support Center" through autonomous agreements with the Office of Education.
Member Woo Seunghee said, "Through this ordinance amendment, I hope that the Office of Education and local governments will overcome the crisis of local extinction by revitalizing the social economy based on village communities."
