Candidate Choi promised, "We will create an ecological tourism zone linking the Yeongsan River Ecological Park from Pureungil Park and establish cultural and artistic spaces in the Yeongsan River waterfront area. We will also promote the construction of a National Natural History Museum in the Mudeungsan Global Geopark, which stretches from Gwangju to Hwasun and Damyang, making the Dongnam region of Gwangju a tourism hub where ecology and culture harmonize."
He continued, "To respond to heatwaves caused by global warming and climate change, we will protect urban ecological forests and expand green spaces by promoting policies such as 'City in the Forest' and 'City of Green Buildings.'
