Jungnang-gu, Resident Participation Budget Program Contest
From February 17 to April 30, Resident Participation Budget Project Contest... This Year’s Total Budget of 900 Million Won Covers Various Areas from Daily Inconveniences to Resident Wish Projects... Final Selection Through Resident General Assembly in August
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Jungnang-gu (Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi) is accepting applications for the ‘Jungnang-gu Resident Participatory Budget Project’ until April 30.
The resident participatory budgeting system allows residents to propose projects and directly participate in budget allocation. This year, a total budget of 900 million KRW is planned for the projects.
Applications are accepted in various fields, from small-scale neighborhood environment improvement projects addressing daily inconveniences to long-awaited resident projects. However, projects involving rigid expenses such as labor costs and statutory expenses, ongoing projects rather than one-year projects, projects requiring support for specific organizations (individuals), projects with a total cost exceeding 100 million KRW, or event-type projects with expenses over 30 million KRW are excluded.
Applications are open to all residents of Jungnang-gu, employees of institutions or businesses located in Jungnang-gu, and students. Applications can be submitted through the Jungnang-gu Office website (Citizen Participation → Resident Participatory Budget → Project Proposal) or by emailing the person in charge at thurwer@jn.go.kr.
It is also possible to apply in person or by mail at the Jungnang-gu Office Village Cooperation Division.
Proposed projects will be reviewed and deliberated by the Resident Participatory Budget Committee, and final selections will be made through a resident general meeting in August. After going through the council’s budget allocation process, the projects will be implemented next year.

Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi of Jungnang-gu said, “The resident participatory budget project is a communication platform where residents themselves discover life-close projects and have budgets allocated to implement them,” and added, “We hope many people will participate in this resident participatory budget project call.”
