On the 14th, according to the Daejeon Talent Development Scholarship Foundation, McKiss Company held a scholarship donation ceremony at the reception room of Daejeon City Hall. Scholarships of 20 million KRW each were delivered to five district offices, and about 41.6 million KRW was given to the city scholarship foundation, all intended to be used for fostering local talent.
Earlier, in May last year, McKiss Company signed a business agreement for the ‘Local Love Scholarship Campaign’ with the Daejeon Talent Development Scholarship Foundation. From this year until 2028, a portion of the sales revenue (5 KRW per bottle) from the representative soju of the Daejeon and Chungcheong region, ‘Ijeurin,’ consumed at general restaurants within Daejeon will be accumulated and donated as scholarships.
Chairman Jo Ung-rae said, “The scholarship for nurturing local talent promised by McKiss Company last year has started to be delivered from this year,” adding, “Although the accumulated amount did not meet expectations due to the sales volume of (Ijeurin) not reaching the company’s initial target, I hope that with the support of local residents, more scholarships can be gathered in the future.”
