Sang-ik Lee, Hampyeong County Governor Preliminary Candidate, Promises to Build a Family Center
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Yoon Jamin] Lee Sang-ik, a preliminary candidate for the by-election for Hampyeong County Governor in Jeonnam, promised the construction of the ‘Hampyeong Family Center’.
On the 13th, the candidate stated in a press release, “Currently, the ‘Healthy Family Multicultural Family Center’ will be transformed into a ‘Family Center’ according to the policy of the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family,” adding, “The current Hampyeong County Multicultural Center is too small a facility for about 1,200 users corresponding to 310 family households registered as members.”
He continued, “There is also a need for shared childcare spaces and facilities like kids cafes for women who are raising children at home,” emphasizing, “It is desirable to build a family center that serves as a childcare cultural space for all women and children, including multicultural families, and as a rest and sports space for women farmers, incorporating multifunctional roles.”
