[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Suwan] Following the theft of a cash box by a group of three foreigners at the Kangwon Land Casino in Jeongseon-gun, Gangwon Province, a theft incident also occurred two days later inside a store at the casino hotel.
According to Kangwon Land and Jeongseon Police Station on the 12th, between the 8th and 9th, items worth approximately 570,000 KRW, including a bottle of wine, a clutch bag, and a business card wallet, were stolen from a hotel store located in the casino business area in Sabuk-eup, Jeongseon-gun.
Kangwon Land reportedly identified a prime suspect, a man in his 50s, through closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage and handed him over to the police on the 10th.
Earlier, at around 6:55 PM on the 7th, a group of three foreigners?one man in his 30s with Hong Kong nationality and a man and woman in their 30s to 40s with Peruvian nationality?stole a cash box (bill stacker) containing about 24 million KRW from a slot machine and fled.
At that time, two of them reportedly shielded the slot machine with their bodies while the remaining person took out the cash box.
