Gas Corporation Continues Regular Employee Conversion Talks with Union... "Disbanding Occupation of President's Office"
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bo-kyung] Korea Gas Corporation has decided to continue discussions on the conversion to regular employment through the 'Labor-Management Expert Council' with the non-regular workers' union.
On the 12th, Gas Corporation stated in a press release, "We have agreed to sincerely engage in mutual consultations through the Labor-Management Expert Council, the official consultation body related to the conversion of non-regular workers to regular employment."
The non-regular workers' union disbanded its occupation of the Gas Corporation president's office as of that day and promised to prevent the recurrence of similar situations without legitimacy. They agreed to bear civil and criminal liability in case of recurrence.
Furthermore, labor and management agreed to conduct consultations based on compliance with all relevant laws and mutual respect for rights. They plan to strive to establish alternatives reflecting the opinions of various stakeholders through dialogue and compromise.
