This policy meeting was held at Junggang Co., Ltd. located in the Pyeongdong Industrial Complex, with participation from about 20 SME representatives including preliminary candidate Lee Yong-bin of Gwangsan Gap, Son Yong-bin, CEO of Sejung Tube Co., Ltd., Jeong Ui-chae, CEO of Moa SNP Co., Ltd., Nam Chang-hee, CEO of Daeil Mechanical Engineering Co., Ltd., and Ha Sang-gu, CEO of Sangil High-Tech Co., Ltd., where they listened to difficulties and exchanged opinions on ‘SME policies.’
At the meeting, SME representatives said, “Our region’s small business owners and SMEs are in very poor condition. In particular, more attention should be paid to the smaller second- and third-tier subcontractors than the primary subcontractors,” and added, “There is a need for a channel where Byeong (丙) can voice their management difficulties more than Eul (乙).”
They also expressed, “Small business owners and SMEs are unable to utilize various government support policies due to a lack of professional manpower,” and “Although the Gwangsan-gu Corporate Doctor Center plays that role, expansion of its scale is necessary for diverse corporate support.”
The SME representatives cited management difficulties such as ▲non-cooperation of the primary contractors ▲rigid labor market ▲rising raw material prices ▲domestic demand slump ▲labor shortage and rising labor costs ▲lack of funds ▲intensified competition.
Preliminary candidate Lee Yong-bin responded, “In our Gwangsan-gu area, micro-enterprises with fewer than five employees account for 79% of the total but form the foundation of Gwangsan-gu’s economy,” and “I will definitely implement the SME representatives’ request to prioritize resolving Byeong (丙)’s management difficulties in policy.”
