Daesan Shin Yong-ho Memorial Foundation Awards Scholarship Certificates to Insurance Scholars
[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Hyung-gil] The Daesan Shin Yong-ho Memorial Foundation announced on the 12th that it awarded scholarship certificates to three students selected as Daesan Insurance Scholars.
Among a total of 18 applicants, the selected students will receive a scholarship of 6 million KRW per semester, totaling 12 million KRW for one year.
The Daesan Insurance Scholarship program has been implemented since 2007 to inherit the spirit of talent development of Mr. Shin Yong-ho, the founder of Daesan (大山), and to discover talents in the domestic insurance field to lay the foundation for the development of the insurance industry. A total of 44 scholars have received scholarships amounting to 470 million KRW.
Son Bong-ho, chairman of the foundation, said, "Mr. Shin Yong-ho was the first in the world to invent educational insurance and took the lead in promoting national education at the private level during difficult times for everyone." He added, "We hope that students will continue Mr. Shin Yong-ho’s educational vision, who built Kyobo Bookstore?a commercial facility rather than a gold-plated land?in the heart of Seoul, and devote themselves to their studies."
