View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Shinwon Yoon] Ha Tae-kyung, co-leader of the New Conservative Party, strongly criticized President Moon Jae-in and Minister of Justice Choo Mi-ae on the 12th.
At the expanded meeting of party leaders and key officials held that day, Ha said, "President Moon Jae-in has completely forgotten the original spirit of the candlelight protests and is becoming a dictator."
He added, "There was a report that a person who distributed satirical leaflets criticizing President Moon was subjected to a police search and seizure. It means the criticism of President Moon was too harsh, but it was just expressing their own opinion," and pointed out, "Praising Kim Jong-un at Gwanghwamun intersection is freedom of expression, but criticizing President Moon is illegal?"
He continued, "Being completely pro-Kim Jong-un is innocent, and being anti-Moon is guilty, in other words, it has become a pro-Kim innocent, anti-Moon guilty dictatorship society," and urged, "Malicious false information should be strictly punished, but satire and criticism of the government and the president should be tolerated. If President Moon does not want to be labeled a dictator, he should immediately stop these unreasonable investigations by the police just because he is being criticized."
He also said, "Why does Minister Choo Mi-ae not disclose the indictment related to SillaJen?" and claimed, "Minister Choo said that submitting the indictment before trial is not allowed for the rights of the accused, but this is a blatant lie."
He added, "The SillaJen case has already ended the trial and five years have passed. So I requested the Ministry of Justice to submit the indictment of the SillaJen case, but they also refused," and asked, "Who on earth are they protecting by not submitting it?"
Ha said, "I thought it was an unfounded story that pro-Moon people were involved in the SillaJen case, but seeing that Minister Choo does not even submit the indictment after five years, I became certain that something is going on," and pointed out, "If this continues, does it mean that indictments will not be submitted even after trials end for cases related to pro-Moon people?"
