SW Maestro to Select 76 Mentors... Monthly Allowance Up to 3 Million KRW
[Asia Economy Reporter Seulgina Jo] The government is recruiting top experts (mentors) to guide trainees in the ‘SW Maestro’ program, which cultivates elite software (SW) talent.
The Ministry of Science and ICT and the Institute for Information & Communications Technology Planning & Evaluation announced on the 11th that they will hold an information session on the 12th to select mentors who will provide mentoring and project guidance to SW Maestro trainees.
The information session will be conducted for applicants wishing to participate as mentors and will include an introduction to the program, an explanation of the mentor’s role, and a Q&A session.
The SW Maestro program is designed to nurture top-tier software talent equipped with technical skills and creativity through intensive mentoring and advanced learning by leading experts in the SW field. Since its inception in 2010, it has produced a total of 1,006 graduates over 10 years.
SW Maestro mentors provide mentoring on SW development projects carried out by trainees and guide essential education such as planning and design required for project execution, as well as SW technology trends. They will be able to work without time constraints at the SW Maestro Training Center located in Yeoksam-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul.
The Ministry of Science and ICT plans to select 70 technical mentors across all SW fields including artificial intelligence, and 6 non-technical mentors in areas such as law, accounting, entrepreneurship, investment, and planning, for a two-year term. Mentors will receive a monthly allowance of up to 3 million KRW depending on the number of training and mentoring sessions.
