Top Stocks to Invest In: Amazon, Alphabet, Apple, Visa, Disney
[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Ju-yeon] Investors interested in overseas stocks consider the U.S. stock market, REITs, and the IT sector as promising investment destinations this year.
On the 10th, KB Securities announced the results of a survey conducted on over 300 customers who attended an overseas stock seminar. According to the results, the most promising overseas stock market this year was the U.S. (57%), followed by China (28%) and Vietnam (15%).
In terms of preferred investment assets, 'stocks' ranked first with 41%, followed by 'real estate REITs' at 32%, and 'exchange-traded funds (ETF)' at 18%.
As for promising investment sectors, the 'IT sector' was overwhelmingly favored at 52%, followed by telecommunications (17%) and healthcare (15%).
The top five stocks investors most wanted to invest in during 2020 were all U.S. stocks. Amazon took first place, followed by Alphabet (Google), Apple, Visa, and Disney. Regarding familiar brands, 'Apple, Alphabet, Amazon, Starbucks, Coca-Cola' were selected.
A KB Securities official said, "We were able to confirm a high preference for investment in familiar brands."
KB Securities plans to actively reflect customers' investment demand for global leading companies by holding various themed overseas stock seminars and producing easy-to-understand reference materials about global investment to distribute to customers.
Additionally, through collaboration with the U.S. investment bank 'Stifel Financial,' they are preparing high-quality research materials on U.S. companies. KB Securities Research Center plans to provide its own investment opinions and target prices for large U.S. stocks through the partnership with Stifel.
KB Financial Group signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for strategic partnership with Stifel Financial on October 21, 2019. The two companies agreed to establish a close cooperative system in areas such as corporate investment banking (CIB), wealth management (WM), asset management, and research, and to explore collaboration and new business opportunities.
Lee Hong-gu, Head of WM Division, said, "It is a reality that information on large U.S. stocks such as Amazon and Apple is concentrated when investors invest in overseas stocks," adding, "KB Securities will do its best company-wide to continuously provide investors with diverse and high-quality global investment information."
