View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Ga-yeon] Independent lawmaker Sohn Hye-won criticized the founding promoters' meeting of the so-called "People's Party," which elected former lawmaker Ahn Cheol-soo as the founding preparation committee chairman, asking, "What on earth are the staff doing?"
On the 9th, Sohn posted on her Facebook, referring to the bouquet handed to former lawmaker Ahn at the founding promoters' meeting, saying, "A bouquet? A bunch of paper?"
From the perspective of a brand strategist, she pointed out that the bouquet Ahn was holding and posing with was completely hidden by paper wrapping.
On the 10th, she posted another message, asking, "Do you see that as a bouquet?" and added, "Maybe they are planning to use orange and gray as the party colors. So symbolically, they came out holding two bundles of paper in those colors."
The People's Party earlier elected former lawmaker Ahn as the founding preparation committee chairman at the promoters' meeting held on the 9th at the Hi Seoul Youth Hostel in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul.
On that day, former lawmaker Ahn stated, "To realize the people's interests, to defeat factional politics, and to practice proper helper politics, I will confront deeply rooted authoritarianism with my whole body."
He expressed his determination, saying, "I will take the path of pragmatic politics that fights," and "We must have firm beliefs and resolve to stand up to vested interests without yielding even a bit."
The People's Party plans to establish party branches in seven metropolitan cities and provinces including Seoul, Gyeonggi, Incheon, Daejeon, Chungbuk, Sejong, and Gwangju, aiming to launch the central party on the 1st of next month.

Former Dongyang University professor Jin Joong-kwon gave a lecture on justice and fairness at the People's Party promoters' meeting. Jin said, "I do not know what your politics are. You seem to be a bit more conservative than I am," but emphasized, "No matter our differences, what we must agree on is fairness and justice."
