[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] Lee Hyukju, Chief Financial Officer of LG Uplus, stated during the LG Uplus 2019 Q4 earnings conference call on the 7th that regarding wireless capital expenditure (CAPEX), "I believe it is an obligation to provide 5G services to subscribers in 85 cities as well as surrounding areas," adding, "Investments must be made at a level where expected and current subscribers can receive services anywhere."

The CFO explained, "I expect the amount allocated to wireless within the total capital expenditure to be about half," and added, "Half will be foundational investments related to 5G, and the other half will be for backend and network wired reinforcement, as well as continuous expansion investments in existing businesses."
