Gyeonggi Fire Headquarters Implements 'Special Alert Duty' Ahead of Jeongwol Daeboreum
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] The Gyeonggi-do Fire and Disaster Headquarters will conduct a 'special alert duty' from the 7th to the 9th in preparation for Jeongwol Daeboreum on the 8th.
The Gyeonggi Fire Headquarters announced on the 6th that the average number of fires during Jeongwol Daeboreum over the past three years was 267 per day, more than twice the usual 133 cases per day. Accordingly, to respond effectively and promptly to fires, a special alert duty will be conducted with 100% deployment of firefighting forces, including having fire station chiefs work in positions where they can immediately command.
The main special alert duties include ▲ fire station chiefs working on the command line and establishing an initial response system ▲ pre-removal of fire vulnerability factors through on-site inspections at event venues ▲ prior guidance and supervision to prevent fires during Daeboreum events such as flying sky lanterns ▲ strengthening on-site patrols before and after events ▲ forward deployment of firefighting forces around moon-viewing event sites ▲ establishing an emergency dispatch posture for the fire aviation unit in preparation for accidents such as emergency patients.
A Gyeonggi Fire Headquarters official said, "Fires frequently occur around Jeongwol Daeboreum every year," adding, "We are conducting special alert duty to respond immediately to fire prevention."
