20s Mother Arrested for Abandoning Newborn in PC Bang Restroom, Resulting in Death
[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Kim Yeon-ju] A woman identified as A (23) who abandoned a newborn in a PC bang restroom, resulting in the infant's death, has been apprehended by the police.
On the 6th, the Gwangju Nambu Police Station announced that A was arrested on charges of infant homicide.
A is suspected of throwing her newborn child out of a window in the restroom of a PC bang in Wolsan-dong, Nam-gu, Gwangju, around 8 a.m. on the 5th.
According to the police, the newborn was already deceased when officers arrived at the scene.
The police stated that they arrested A at her residence in the afternoon of the same day following a report from a resident near the PC bang.
A was reportedly transferred to a hospital due to poor health.
